Why we’re proud to be re-certified by JICWEBS
We’re delighted to announce that Crimtan has been re-certified by the industry standard body, JICWEBS.
JICWEBS oversees the independent development of good practice and standards for digital ad trading. Their aim is to increase transparency and trust in how digital advertising is bought and sold.
This is something that is equally important to us. Crimtan believes in total trading transparency and will always use our best endeavours to protect our clients’ brand, and maximise the value of their online advertising campaigns.
This quest for transparency is why we pioneered lifecycle marketing for display.
What is JICWEBS?
JICWEBS is an independent, cross-industry organisation that was created to bring trust and transparency to digital advertising.
The four digital advertising trade bodies behind JICWEBS are the Association of Online Publishers (AOP), the IAB UK, the ISBA, and the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA).
JICWEBS set standards that companies can be independently verified to. The standards are defined by cross-industry working groups and the representatives on those groups join through their trade bodies.
The whole industry can use these standards to self-regulate
Because the working groups that define JICWEBS’ standards are formed from across the industry, the whole industry can use these standards to self-regulate, and have a say in what they are, and how they evolve.
And while JICWEBS may be a UK initiative, it also has global relevance. Many JICWEBS signatories, like Crimtan, operate on a global scale. So JICWEBS has formed a partnership with US-based Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) to ensure global consistency in tackling digital advertising challenges.
Why Crimtan were one of the first companies to sign up to JICWEBS
It’s important to us that we sign up with JICWEBS as part of our commitment to transparency in digital advertising.
Indeed, we were one of the first 10 companies to sign up to JICWEBS’ Digital Trading Standards Group (DTSG) Good Practice Principles in 2014.
Four years after we signed up, in April 2018, a House of Lords select committee on digital advertising recommended companies sign up with JICWEBS and commit to self-regulation.
