Crimtan recertified by TAG for 2026: another year of putting brand safety first
When it comes to digital advertising, there's little more important than trust
Technology has allowed us to deliver almost anything to anyone through digital advertising, which is why trust is such an important piece of the puzzle.
Advertisers, brands and agencies need to know that their advertising is reaching the right audiences, via the right channel at the right time without exposing their reputation to potential risks. The momentum of technological advancements shows no signs of slowing down which means standards and accountability are crucial.
That’s why we’re delighted to announce that Crimtan has been recertified by the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) for 2026, reaffirming our commitment to maintaining high standards of brand safety across the programmatic advertising ecosystem.
TAG is a global initiative focused on strengthening trust, transparency and safety in digital advertising. Its Brand Safety Certified programme is designed to significantly reduce the risk of advertising being placed alongside inappropriate or unsafe content.
For us at Crimtan, we’re focussed on minimising fraud and maximising brand safety for every single one of our clients and this certification underpins our commitment.
What does TAG certification mean?
TAG Brand Safety Certification provides an industry framework for companies to demonstrate that they have robust measures in place to reduce the risk of ad misplacement.
The programme requires participating companies to have appropriate brand safety principles, policies and procedures in place, as well as mechanisms for monitoring and addressing potential issues. It also requires monetisable transactions to be reviewed using independently validated content verification services or appropriate inclusion and exclusion lists.
In other words, it provides an independently recognised benchmark for responsible digital advertising practices.
In 2026, that benchmark matters more than ever.
TAG awarded more than 300 certification seals to 196 companies worldwide this year across its fraud, malvertising, brand safety and transparency programmes, demonstrating the growing importance of independently recognised standards across the digital advertising supply chain.
What does this mean for Crimtan clients?
Greater confidence in where your advertising appears
It’s worth understanding that brand reputation can take years to build but only moments to damage.
TAG certification gives our clients additional reassurance that brand safety is embedded into the way we operate. We use a combination of technology, verification and our own controls to assess inventory and help ensure campaigns are delivered in environments appropriate for each brand.
Our approach includes integrations with leading verification technology, including Integral Ad Science, alongside extensive inclusion and exclusion lists that can be tailored to individual campaigns.
Importantly, this means brand safety isn’t treated as one-size-fits-all. Campaign requirements can be adapted to the individual needs and risk tolerance of each client.
Protection without losing sight of performance
Brand safety shouldn’t mean simply avoiding risk at the expense of reaching valuable audiences.
Our goal is to balance safety, scale and performance.
Through contextual intelligence, verification and carefully managed programmatic buying, we can help clients access the audiences they want while maintaining appropriate controls around the environments in which their advertising appears.
Ultimately, safer media buying should support better advertising and not get in its way.
An ongoing commitment, not a one-off achievement
Perhaps the most important thing about recertification is that it demonstrates an ongoing commitment.
Digital advertising doesn’t stand still. New platforms, new content formats, evolving consumer behaviour and increasingly sophisticated forms of fraud mean that the risks facing advertisers continue to change.
That’s why maintaining recognised industry standards requires continuous attention.
At Crimtan, privacy, security and brand safety are fundamental to how we approach programmatic advertising. Alongside TAG Brand Safety Certification, we maintain a broader compliance framework that includes IAB Gold Standard certification, ISO 27001 and support for the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework.
Trust is part of performance
When clients invest in programmatic advertising, they aren’t just buying impressions, conversions or awareness. They’re investing in their brand.
Every served ad represents an opportunity to build trust with a potential customer and conversely, every inappropriate placement can undermine it.
Our 2026 TAG recertification is another way we can demonstrate that we take that responsibility seriously.
It gives our clients an additional layer of confidence that the technology, processes and standards behind their campaigns are designed with brand protection in mind.
TAG recertification isn’t about ticking a box, it’s about continuing to earn the trust of the brands we work with, campaign after campaign.
As digital advertising evolves further, we’ll continue to invest in the technology, expertise and industry standards that help our clients advertise with confidence.
